e
went for a day trip to Tenby in West Wales during April, to make the most of the
fantastic early summer weather that we have been having. It was a great day, and
fully enjoyed by all. Tenby (Welsh: Dinbych-y-Pysgod, "little fortress of the
fish") is a walled seaside town in Pembrokeshire, lying on Carmarthen Bay, and
is a popular seaside holiday resort. Tenby has four kilometres of sandy beaches,
13th-century town walls including the Five Arches barbican gate, the
15th-century St. Mary's Church, the Tudor Merchant's House, a museum with art
gallery, and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, part of Britain's only coastal
National Park. Boats sail from Tenby's harbour to the monastic Caldey Island
while St Catherine's Island just offshore is linked to the town at low tide.
