Well I was very fortunate enough to have been able
to obtain tickets for the Phil Collins concert in Prague on the 24th October
2005, the date is part of his First Final Farewell Tour, which initially started
in the summer of 2004. Unfortunately as you may be aware, the concert had to be
cancelled due to Phil being taken ill at his previous concert in Vilnius,
Lithuania (Siemens Arena). His illness was not too serious, basically he just
lost his voice, but I guess that is pretty serious for a singer. The concerts
have been re-scheduled for 23rd & 24th November 2005. I now have tickets for the
second concert on the 24th, which looks like it is to be Phil's last ever Solo
concert. I will add updates when / if I am successful in going to the concert.
As you are probably aware by now, I was unable to attend the re-sheduled
concerts due to work commitments in Seattle - USA. But I suppose a months stay
in Seattle being paid to go sightseeing and partying is a big enough sweetener
for anyone!

PHIL COLLINS - First Final Farewell Tour
One of the most successful signers of the
world pop music history, a member of the
legendary Genesis band and an excellent
musician comes to the Czech Republic.
Question marks have been recently hanging
over his live performance – Phil was forced
to reduce concerts due to hearing problems.
This makes the news about his visit to the
SAZKA ARENA during his planned tour even
more pleasant.
Phil Collins has been a part of the world
music elite for more than three decades.
After Peter Gabriel s departure from the
legendary Genesis band, he assumed beside
his position of the band drummer also the
role of a singer. At the same time, he
started recording his first albums.
Nowadays, he has focused during several
years solely on his own music carrier, but
has been a guest star in a number of
projects of his colleagues from the music
world.
The last album of Phil Collins series was
published in 2002 under the name “Testify”
and its sales in the Czech Republic achieved
a platinum award. Last September, he
published a compilation under the name Love
Songs: A Compilation... Old and New, where
we can find, for instance, his famous hits
One More Night, Against All Odds, Groovy
Kind of Love, Separate Lives, Two Hearts and
others. And as indicated by the name, there
are also several new compositions of Phil s
repertoire, including a new topical single
Tearin & Breakin.
Phil has recently taken somewhat different
musical paths with its famous big band
project and as the author of film music. He
got an Oscar, a Golden Globe and Grammy
award for his music to the new film version
of Tarzan. However, his last albums have
returned to the mature pop kingdom. If you
seek absolutely perfect compositions and
texts abounding with mature emotions, you
need not seek any more, because Phil is your
person. He proves this also at his concerts,
which are always filled with energy and
musical sense. The Czech public could see
that in December 1997, with unending
ovations in the packed sports hall. And the
same can be definitely expected in autumn!
Seated tickets at 1 600 CZK, 1 300 CZK
and 1 100 CZK, standing by the stage at 1
250 CZK and standing at 1 050 CZK.
