Newcastle October 2003

During October we had a  short trip to Newcastle to see some friends and to sort out a bit of business. It was part of a short tour which included visits to Bristol, Newcastle, Amsterdam, and Munich.

The Gateshead Millennium Bridge overt the Tyne

Whether a trip is for business purposes or for social reasons, it always seems to end up turning into a sightseeing tour of the local public houses and clubs. From the inside of course!

Normally included in these events is a little tour around the local eateries, which will always end up in a late night meal at the worst Indian Restaurant that we can find. On very lucky occasions a sporting event can be taken into viewing too, normally in the form of chanting abuse at the local footie team. Unfortunately this was found wanting on this occasion as the Magpies were away and Sunderland... Well we'll say no more about that, other than I did say footie!

Another day and Edwin & Robert are on the Quayside again!

I know what you are thinking! We seem to be spending all our time on the Quayside, and taking photo's of bridges. Which is quite true; we are big fans of the Newcastle-Gateshead Quayside and in particular the Millennium bridge. A major reason why we seem to have spent so much time there on this visit to Newcastle, is that on all previous visits there the weather has been terrible, and I assure you that it is not a pretty site on those occasions, but in the sun it is absolutely fabulous.

All photographs were taken in Newcastle - England on the 1st & 2nd October 2003.
