orina and I participated in rather a lot of
entertainment events and sightseeing whilst she was over in July... as you can
see by the number of entry's in the Gallery. In addition to attending the supendous Live 8 concert, visiting the now legendary Concorde, seeing the
theatrical Beauty and the Beast, the now historical Harbour Festival and the
sunburst entertaining Harbour Festival, as part of this entertainment
attendance, it included trips to London, Oxford, Bath and Bristol, as well as
the now included Weston Super Mare.

the Bristol Queen 1hr boat trip along the Brean Down Peninsula. We left 1hr to
half an hour before high tide and the trip took in both of Weston’s Piers,
coastline, and the Historic Fortress built on the Headland. We then sailed
across Weston Bay where you can appreciate the largely unspoiled townscape from
the sea before proceeding into Sand Bay and taking in some of the beautiful
Kewstoke coastline then we returned to the harbour

Birnbeck Pier was
completed in 1867. The visitors then had further space to walk and take the air.
The town grew, with villas, estates and boulevards. There were drives and walks
through Weston Woods, planted on Weston Hill by the lord of the manor in the
1820s as a private game reserve, and from the top it was possible to enjoy
splendid vistas as far as Exmoor and Wales
