ell
what is probably my last lads Summer holiday abroad, now that I am on the wrong
side of the 18-30's. I decided to make the most of it! There were 15 of us in
total, with an extremely broad age group from 20 to 60ish, and even broader
views on what makes a good lads Summer holiday! Ayia Napa (Greek: Αγία Νάπα;
Turkish: Aya Napa; today officially transliterated into English as Agia Napa) is
a resort at the far eastern end of the south coast of the island of Cyprus,
famous for its sandy beaches. In recent years, apart from being a family holiday
destination, it has become a 'party capital' similar to Ibiza. As of late, it
has become particularly popular with UK Grime artists/MCs for holidays and gigs
in its clubs/venues. So without further ado, I will take you through our all
night tours of Napa...

Geographically, Ayia
Napa lies near Cape Greco at the eastern part of Cyprus, just south of Famagusta
and forms part of a larger area known as Kokkinochoria (a name derived from the
red colour of its soil). It is a town of Famagusta District, in the remaining
southern part of the district not occupied by Turkish forces in 1974. Ayia Napa
is about 8 kilometres (5 miles) away from Protaras, a town that has recently
seen similar development, but still manages to remain low-key and remains more
favourable for families and Cypriot locals

Boat Trip

The Agia Napa
coastline attracts a large number of tourists, thanks to its golden sandy
beaches. Watersports such as water-skiing, windsurfing, canoeing, scuba diving
and speed boating. The Cyprus Tourism Organization supervises the beaches and is
responsible for protecting the interests of all tourists. All beaches in Agia
Napa have been awarded with the EU blue flag for their level of cleanliness and
the comprehensive facilities offered in line with the uniform standards set by
the European Union. There are a few beaches which are perfect and you should
visit. The first and most popular is the Nissi beach, a sandy exotic beach with
crystal clear waters. It is visited mainly by clubbers and young people at
summer and gets very busy. Another one of the best beaches is the Harbour Beach
or Limanaki (CTID) or Pantahou beach. It is one of the longest beaches of
Cyprus, and the longest beach of Ayia Napa. Sandy with crystal clear waters, the
Harbour Beach is a family and relaxing beach. With no noise or parties, just
people who like to relax. Another one of the best beaches to visit in Agia Napa
is the New Golden Bay, or what is known as Lanta / Landa beach to the locals. It
is a lovely beach with many things to do, escaping the busyness of Nissi beach,
but still a good place to be seen, and it can be enjoyed by the whole family

Apparently... If you
are in Ayia Napa, you just cannot miss this place. Here you can dance to 70/80s
music.... The retro music played will make you dance till you cannot have
anymore. The styling inside is also cool; and reminds you of the discos in the
80s
Normal dresscode is accepted but you could go one step further and put on some
70s/80s clothes for that night. I can assure you that it will be fun & you will
not be the only one. Also inside the club , there is a small shop where you can
buy special wigs and sunglasses which will get you in the mood

Is Slopey seriously

Your liver will
thank you not to try out all the clubs and bars. Literally there would be close
to a hundred in this relatively small town. My pick list would be: Bar: The
Ambasseden. Say hello to Nicole from Scotland
Clubs: The Castle,
Carwash or Starsky's would be my choices. Great variety of music and the over
30’s aren’t pointed at in fits of laughter, well not all of the time...

Sightseeing

This was part of the
original town before the tourists arrived. The original monastery buildings date
from around the 1500s although they have recently undergone some renovation.
There is a legend behind the origins of the Monastery. It is said that a hunter
followed a barking dog into a cave in the forest. He found an illuminated icon
of the Virgin Mary. Of course, the story of this discovery soon spread amongst
the people. A young jilted Venetian noble woman came to hear of the place where
pilgrims built a chapel. The young woman decided to retreat there and built a
monastery, an olive press and a mill. As she was Catholic she also had a second
chapel built. The cloister is still a peaceful spot in the middle of the
nightlife and activity of what was a former fishing village
